About Me
My roots are in Patagonia, but I grew up in Germany. Perhaps that is where my passion for working with people from different backgrounds and cultures comes from. Spanish is my native language alongside German, and English has been a natural part of my professional life for many years.
As a qualified nutrition and household scientist (Diplom-Ökotrophologin), I have worked in the food industry for over 20 years, gaining experience from a wide range of perspectives. After completing my studies, I spent four years running my own organic business, growing gourmet mushrooms and delivering subscription-based organic produce boxes.
I then worked as an organic inspector, auditing food manufacturers, traders and importers. Later, I experienced the other side of the audit table: first as a team leader at an importing company and then as a quality manager for a trading company, responsible for organic and IFS certifications. I have conducted on-site supplier audits across South America, Africa, Asia and Europe, working closely with suppliers to align product quality and processes with the requirements of the European market.
Since 2021, through Carstensen Food Consulting, I have been supporting manufacturers, retailers, and importers, from small businesses without their own quality management departments to established companies. I help businesses obtain organic certification, conduct internal audits based on IFS standards, and develop and improve their quality management systems.
For you, this means I not only understand the requirements but also know how to implement them in everyday business operations and what auditors look for. That is why I develop practical concepts, support their implementation, and share my expertise through targeted training. In this way, standardized requirements become tailored solutions.
Personal conversations with managers and employees are particularly important to me. I listen, ask questions, and take the time to understand how things really work within a company. Because, to me, that is where good consulting begins.
